Why is the HD (Max) thumbnail sometimes unavailable?

Not every video has a max-resolution thumbnail rendered by YouTube. If the source does not provide maxresdefault.jpg, we’ll still offer HQ/MQ/SD. That is expected behavior and not a bug.

Some browsers (especially on iOS) open images in a new tab by design. Our tool offers a server download option via our proxy endpoint that sets Content-Disposition: attachment. On iPhone/iPad, use the server download option or long-press the image link and choose “Download Linked File”.

Yes. The site is responsive and works on modern browsers across phones, tablets and desktops. On iOS, direct image downloads may open in a new tab; use the server download option if you want a forced download.
